Thriller Night
Well this was Baker's first official Halloween. Laura and I helped him carve a pumpkin, and took him trick-or-treating with some of his friends. This is what you call.....Mommy and Daddy waited till the last minute to get Baker a costume. I guess he will be a sweet dog or cow or something like that next year. This year he is showing off his "tough" side! Watch out!
Our Sweet Boy.....
Baker is almost 14 months and growing so fast. He is becoming more and more fun each day. He loves to say "truck", "dog", "uh-oh" (his favorite), and "moo". Or at least we think that is what he is saying. As you can tell from the picture, we all love to say "Aahhaah". He also has learned to throw his food at mommy during meal times and laugh from the pit of his stomach. That is a treat for mommy. One year old discipling...NOT EASY. There are many times that his sweet smile and laugh make it very hard for me to keep a straight face. I love those moments. And I had to throw in our sweet boy all bundled up for the sitter in the morning. I hate to go to school, leaving that sweet thing behind. His laugh, smile, kisses, and hugs brighten each of my days. We are very blessed!

Baker's 1st Birthday
Well it was not ideal weather, but we made the best out of Baker's first birthday. Thanks to everyone who came to share this day with us. Baker is truly blessed to great family and friends who love him. As you can tell Baker likes cake by the handfuls...

Splish Splash!!!
I finally remembered to bring my camera to the pool, and I am glad that I did. Baker is full of himself. Every time he would splash the water in his face he would laugh from the pit of his stomach! Glad we got a few moments on camera! And I had to throw in the sunscreen/nap hair picture! It was a great day!

10 Month Highlights....
Baker is getting so big. I can officially say that he is not a baby anymore. I love watching him grow and learn. Being home with him all summer has been such a blessing. I knew that when I became a teacher it would be a great job for a working mother, but I never knew how much I would truly enjoy my summers! I have gotten to watch Baker finally learn to crawl......and almost walk. I've gotten to watch him throw temper tantrums with the "fake cries". I've gotten to literally see a 10 month old be outright defiant! But I have loved his hugs....his open mouth kisses...holding up his arms wanting me to pick him up...healing boo boos when he falls flat on his big head =)...arguing with him... when I say mama and he laughs and says dada (I swear he does it on purpose). I love everything about him and I am so sad I only have two more weeks of summer! He is such a blessing and each day with him is a gift.
As for the months highlights.....picture 1 - a fun day at the park with mommy and daddy. 2 - Josh and Baker going to an SAE dinner. Josh was a proud daddy. And Mommy thinks her boys are just precious! 3 - I had to throw this picture in b/c it cracks me up. On the few occasions when I let my 10 month old watch his Praise Baby DVD, he cannot take his eyes off the tv. I literally can dance, scream, sing, only getting a kick glance, maybe smile, and he is back to his show. This is a picture of him laying out in his bouncy chair, completely captivated in his dvd. FYI- he would even look at me to take the picture. 4 - Baker's first time at the zoo with the Darnells, some of our favorite friends!!! He is growing up so fast. I can't believe we will be having a birthday in less than 2 months. Thank you so much for loving our boy and sharing in our lives!

Real Men Ride Bulls....
Baker enjoys going to the farm and seeing all the animals. Our pet bull (yes, I did say bull!!!), Norman, is very friendly and enjoys the company! Baker was not scared at all.....either was Norman! Baker is 9 months and still a peanut. Doc says he is still in the 10th percentile! I don't know how though, he eats everything. His hair is growing back fast and he has a fabulous head of hair (daddy is proud)! At least he is ahead of the game on that. He has yet to crawl....doesn't seem interested at all. He loves to pull up on things....including us, hold on, and walk. I am SO enjoying my summer with him. It is going by way to fast!

The Month's Highlights...
Sorry it has taken us so long to post this month! The month has been full of excitement. These pictures really don't do it justice. Baker is in to so many new things.....chewing on his feet constantly, banging the keyboard while Daddy is on the computer, why buy toys....his favorite thing is a remote, and his new big boy bath seat!!! Not to mention is hair is finally beginning to grow in and he is getting a nice head of hair! He laughs all the time and is beginning to hug when he gets really excited. Baker did, however, get his first battle wound. He rolled right off the bed! Daddy and Mommy paniced, but Baker made it out with only a bump on the head! I'm sure it is the first of many bumps, but I don't look forward to any more anytime soon. Baker fills our life daily with so much joy and love! We are so blessed!

Easter 2008 "Who, me, spoiled???"
Sorry, due to technical difficulties, this is the only picture I could pull up! We had a wonderful Easter with the family. Even though it was chilly, Baker loved getting to briefly sit outside and "eat" his eggs. As you can tell, his lovely grandparents and great grandparents gave us tons of bunnies and chicks. Just what we needed! ha, ha. We are so very thankful that we have such a wonderful family, so very thankful Baker has become a part of it, and so very thankful for our Lord and his gift to us on Easter!!!

A Day of Firsts (6 months old)
Saturday was a big day in our household. Baker had his first taste of real food....sweet potatoes. You can see by his reaction that he wasn't quite sure about it at first, but he was smiling by the end of it. I am "attempting" to make his baby food. So far, it has been easy and it makes a ton for really cheap. With working, trying to be a wife, keep my home somewhat tidy(which has been pretty impossible....and that drives me crazy), spend time with my husband and child, workout(yeah right), and most importantly have time with the Lord each day, my time is definitely stretched as far as it can. We also had our "biggest snowstorm in 5 years" as the News said. However, if you slept in, you missed it. We enjoyed throwing on our play clothes and going outside in the snow first thing that morning. Baker seemed to enjoy it and just laughed and laughed at our dog Maddie. My how I am enjoying every minute with him. As amazingly busy as my life has now become, I wouldn't trade it for anything in the world. He is mine and Josh's absolute joy and we are so thankful the Lord has blessed us with such a precious gift.

Almost 5 Months!
Baker looks smashing styling a new outfit given to him by his Grandma Teck (had to give a shout out!!! We are most appreciative).
Baker is 3 days away from being 5 months old and growing more and more every day. My how time flies when you are having fun. I absolutely love watching him learn new things, and we are realizing very quickly how he watches our every move, word, etc. He keeps us on our toes constantly! My prayer is that he continues to grow healthy and that we are a daily example of faith! He is truly our gift from above!

Hair Today, Gone Tomorrow
Before......
After!!!!
As I sit here knowing I need to be in bed, yet hanging on to a slightest hope that it will snow tonight and I can spend another day with my now hairless child, I felt compelled to tell all about our "latest" adventure as new parents. It never ceases to amaze me how we as new parents do EVERYTHING wrong the first time around. For example....have you ever tried to put in the base of a car seat, changed a diaper wondering what is that all over the wall (pee pee), making a mass amount of formula for your child's bottles the next day and wondering why it didn't make enough when you know you measured it correctly (putting the formula in first, then adding the water to the 30 ounce line-did I pay attention in science class, does formula take up space???), way underdosing your child with his antibiotics because you read the dropper wrong (like we have time to look at that closely), try to burp your child over the shoulder and then feel it running all down your back.......I could go on and on and on! Well, after finally hearing enough of everyone making fun of our balding child.....even Dr. Eastham recommended hair club for men (as you can see from his pictures)....we decided to get an electric razor out.....with a guard....and just cut it shorter where it didn't look so bad. After blaming Josh's razor, everyone for making fun of his hair and calling him sloth (from the Goonies - "Baby Ruth"), Kelley for suggesting the idea, and my own darn bad luck, I have come to terms with the fact that we butchered our child's hair! The razor was a little off to say the least, and after a long, LONG sobbing cry, I could only blame myself....and Josh a little. I mean....it was his crappy razor. So, we've come to terms with it and just say he has that Brad Pitt thing going on! Pray it will grow soon!!!!
Oh, and by the way, I met one of my many future girlfriends....Ella Mackenzie Stiles. She is a UT fan, but hey, they can't all be goodlooking and perfect!
